The purpose and goal of this site is to aid in
the preparation of lightweight long distance hiking (or tramping).
The reduction in pack-weight will ultimately make your journey
more enjoyable and less painful, as long as the right
choices are made regarding which items are required, and which
items can be left at home. So, this site concentrates more on
reducing pack weight than hiking techniques or training methods,
etc. This site as you see it today is still not finished; it
will be extended further as time goes by.
